(Hershey, PA) – In the second Google+ Hangout from All About Beer Magazine celebrating American Craft Beer Week, the crew talked beer with the founding brothers from Tröegs Brewing Company.
The company is “on target” for 60,000 barrels this year, up ~36% from 2012. Tröegs beer is currently sold in eight states but 60% of sales come in the home state of Pennsylvania. There are currently no plans to expand beyond that footprint.
Tröegs will bring back Splinter Gold bottles ‘soon.’ This year’s edition of the wood-aged wild ale was made partially with some of the very first batch made six years ago.
They also discuss some of the core portfolio beers and hopping methods during the half-hour chat.

Many have given up on asking when it will be ready and are just awaiting the offical word. I got excited thinking this new thread was a new announcement or update about the release.

Regarding the video, cheers to them even though the video was the most painful thing ive listen to in awhile. The echo/reverb/feedback whatever it was made it nearly impossible to understand anything Chris and John were saying.

And damn them for teasing with bottles of splinter gold in plain sight in the middle of the screen.

Did you get to taste it at PA Flavor? I thought it tasted good, I think it's a little different from the 1st batch, but hard to remember since that was a few years ago.

I did not attend PA flavor. Had I known a preview of splinter gold was involved, I might have forked over the cost of admission!

I have not tasted splinter good in over 3 years. Whatever memory I have of it would need to be revived from reading my old review I wrote. Regardless of it being the same, similar to totally different I am excited to try it again.
