    Hello all,

I brewed a 1/2 BBL batch of a simple wheat saison base with a stepped up culture of SARA dregs from a bottle of Nonna's Blend #7.

Gravity started at 1.051 and fermented to dryness (literally 1.000) in about 2 months. I racked off in 5 separate containers, each with a different type of fruit. x4 one gallon carboys got separate fills of blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and peaches, while 5 gallons went into a 6.5 gallon carboy with apricots.

The 1 gallon peach carboy has formed a beautiful 'SARA' pellicle, but the other 4 have only formed these white films that look a little like white mold. They are splotchy and are consistent across the top of the beer/fruit.

this is the peach with the correct pellicle

Either way, some feedback would be great.

    Cheers!

What makes you think a pellicle is needed? It isn't. All beers should be fine.

I was just wondering why one beer formed one and te others didn't. But more importantly, what that white stuff is on the top of my beer. It certainly doesn't look like a pellicle. Just wondering is anybody had seen or experienced the same thing.

I wouldn't be surprised if all of them look like the peach eventually. Nothing pictured is something to worry about.

All look normal to me. The berry one looks just like my berry one did. Oxygen, growth rate, sugars, all play a role. My Lambics tend to never get a traditional pellicle.
