I've only been a couple of times to this place, and neither under the newish ownership. I found the original owners a bit standoffish and the vibe was like finding yourself in the living room of someone you didn't know.

I also know people who love the place and everything I've heard about the current owner has been very positive. Hopefully, she can get something going with a more sympathetic landlord. I do love the idea of craft beer-oriented places on the South Hill, but I seem to have a hard enough time fitting in my favorite couple of locals, let alone getting to other places.

Popped in for a beer yesterday, on a rare occasion where I was nearby and it was after they open (the perils of having to go to work in the wee hours of the morning - when I get off work, lots of places haven't opened yet)). Seemed a lot more relaxed vibe than before and with some great beers on, including a Vanilla Bourbon Stout from Waddell's that was far improved over the two local mainstay versions of such a beer (it helped that the vanilla was way dialed back) and a barley wine whose name now escapes me (EDIT: It was this: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1416/58868/) Maybe because their time is short, they're just throwing shit out there to be drank up, but I'll definitely be back before the 26th.
