Right now, Whistle Punk is holding a "Punktoberfest."

Forgot to post it at the time, but I made a trip out to Cheney, WA, last week, where I made two forays into Inland Ale Works (I sandwiched a trip to a sports bar down the street to watch EWU thump No.Colorado. Go Eags!).
Fun place. A number of different styles on tap. I had an IPA, a California Common, and an espresso oatmeal stout. Lots of old school breweiana on the walls and two barky but cute and friendly doggos. The couple that own and brew the beers were behind the bar and were excellent hosts.
    Check 'em out!

In other news, I saw that No Drought Brewing is inching closer to opening up their Spokane Valley location. Their sign is now up on the building they're going to be brewing and pouring out of. I've only had a couple of their beers from when the Steel Barrel was still open, but I enjoyed them. The Valley needs more breweries and I suspect it will be a popular place when it opens.

Speaking of the valley, YaYa Brewing now has a FH version of Fluffy Puffy on right now, but it won't be around much longer. Apparently they absolutely blew through the cans of it they'd packaged for take home use, and are on their last keg in the taproom. It was drinking gloriously well on Friday afternoon. The standard FP is just about my favorite local hazy, and the FH version is deliciously bright.

Dutch is the man. He served me countless beers at the Tap and Handle before he moved up there… someone tell him Manbear said hello!

Dutch is a great guy. You can tell a lot about a place by who they hire, and Whistle Punk doesn't really tolerate bad humans.

I popped into Garland Brew Werks to "celebrate" getting my booster jab, and discovered they're well into their "Twelve Beers of Christmas:"

Had the Swans A Sprucin' (a pale ale w/spruce tips), and am hitting the Turtle Dove, a dessert porter, right now.

Hopefully you won't have an adverse reaction. I went to the gym and then had a few beers after my booster, and felt pretty good. The next day I was a complete wreck. Arm hurt and I felt like I'd come down with the flu. Have heard a lot of folks having similar symptoms.

curious which shot/booster? My family members that got Pfizer…nothing. Those, me included, that got moderna had reactions. After second shot last April, about 2 days of super fatigue. At night alternated between boiling hot and freezing cold. After my booster, my only affect effect was extreme chills for a couple of days.

Weird. But worth it. One of these days I’ll visit my brother in Spokane and hit up iron goat. On my to do list.

Yesterday, I probably slept 14hrs and my upper arm felt like it'd been struck by a cannon ball fired from a pirate ship.

Arm is still sore today, but much better than it was, and I feel much better. I made waffles this a.m. and now have a corned beef brisket cooking in the crock pot. I'm trying a new recipe which called for two beers to be poured in as cooking liquid, so I poured a couple pFriem pilsener cans (the recipe author said thr kind of beer they prefered was ale or lager:rolling_eyes:).

Now drinking this, my 1st beer since Friday:

It was Moderna. First shot - nothing. Second shot, I felt kinda flu-ey the next day. Booster-see my last post.
I'm perfectly good with everyone getting vaccinated and the world losing the need for further boosters being needed to handle new variants at this point!

Feel the same way, but I guess we both know that's not going to happen. Oh well...
