Has anyone heard the rumor that Waddels is opening a brewery/restaurant in the 5-Mile area? Could be pretty damn cool.
This town is going brewery crazy! I'm starting to wonder how many breweries Spokane can actually support. Is your source someone at Waddell's?
It's no rumor. Although I'm not positive they are committed to buildout yet, I do know the plan is there.
So I stopped by Waddell's for lunch today, and asked the bartender about a possible brewery/brewpub. He confirmed that they plan to open a seperate facility on the Northside of town, one that will be considerably larger than the current pub. He indicated that it would essentially be a brewpub. While he couldn't tell me a target date for opening, he indicated that they were hopeful that it would be sometime in the Fall. I asked him if they had a brewer yet, and he indicated that it was his understanding that they were currently still in the interview phase of the process.
