Spokane: reliability fresh beer

    I think to some degree a lot of the beer on the shelf is not there because it's a good mover or even making them any money at all, as weird as that sounds. For the distributor, that's space that might otherwise be occupied by competitors. For a retailer like Total Wine, it adds to the "wow look how much we have" appeal. For the brewer, it gives their name more visibility.

    If the distributor or brewer is religious about removing old stock, the retailer might see that products really aren't taking advantage of shelf space and give it to a competitor.

    The number of people who care is just too small to make a difference.
