So what are some other good beers by that brewery?

I am guilty of coming in to just grab a 12er of spotted cow. the reason being my mind is dead set on spotted cow, esp them day when the pontoon goes out.

Most of their offerings are good. I'm partial to Moon Man (Pale Ale) and a rotating Pilsener they did called Hometown Blonde. My favorite was Fat Squirrel (Brown Ale) , but they aren't making it in 2013 (they seem to indicate that they'll brew it again in 2014.) I had their Totally Naked (pale lager) recently and it wasn't bad. Many people here love their fruit beers, Serendipity being the most popular.

I've seen the raspberry on the shelf, never connected the dots on the brewery name

Dancing Man Wheat is one of the best American-brewed hefe weizens around. Moon Man APA is extremely respectable. Coffee Stout and Road Slush Stout are both great sessionable stouts. YMMV, but I'm partial to Staghorn Octoberfest as well.

I was disappointed that they didn't make Road Slush this year. It was very tasty last year.

I think they alternate them, brewing one for one winter and the other the next.

That's what i think too. They did Snow Shoes & Cabin Fever this year.

If you follow NG on Facebook, you see Deb comment repeatedly that Road Slush and Coffee Stout alternate years. Not sure if that's always been the case, but certainly for the last few years.

Also, Fat Squirrel is supposed to be back as a seasonal in 2013, per Deb's comments on FB.

Really? Because when I contacted them in December, New Glarus (via email) told me it wouldn't be available until 2014. I'm glad to hear that I'm wrong though. Fat Squirrel is a Thanksgiving tradition in my family and I was kinda bummed that we wouldn't have it this year.

I suppose they aren't definitive on exactly when, but sure sounds like 2013 seasonal to me, and Fall would be my choice of season for a brown ale.

I don't know. They didn't exactly say 2013, so it could still be 2014. Of course if enough people ask about Fat Squirrel, it might make them consider offering it again sooner. A girl can hope (and go onto their FB page to bug them about it.) Thanks for the info!

Odd that they offered the Winter Warmer instead of a barleywine. Two completely different styles.

I'll be a little surprised if Fat Squirrel doesn't come out in the fall, but I could be wrong:
Black Top: Fall Seasonal -> Year Round
Fat Squirrel: Year Round -> Fall Seasonal

As far as Barleywines, NG has only ever made 3 to my knowledge:
    • Tail Wagger (2006) [ISO BTW, if anyone has an extra laying around ]
    • Unplugged Iced Barleywine (2009)
    • Thumbprint Barley Wine (2012)
I would not have expected one this year.

I can't help but laugh at this post. Heaven forbid the thread get slightly off topic. Like the DLD thread with 2000 posts has stayed true to the same topic from page 1 to page 50. Or how it's somehow unimaginable to think that a topic be brought up more than once over a period of time. Did you not see the endless number of threads about DLD?

It just gets tiresome ( as does the endless DLD threads). Fwiw, I agree 100% w your first post in here. Ill politely bow out of the thread
