Found this in the freezer at Trader Joe's today: http://www.traderjoes.com/digin/post/sprouted-red-jasmine-rice Picked up a couple boxes and figured it might work well in a cream ale of sorts. Has anyone else out there played around with it?
be careful. red rice might contain gmos and those are deadly (not being srs) Sounds like it'd be interesting
The two beers i've had using red rice (haven't had the Hitachino one) were remarkably average and uninspired... But I think they were more going for the gimmick than trying to make something good, so don't let that put you off.
Kinda why I want to try them in a cream ale, no other malt, yeast, or hop flavors to really cover them up. I'd try out a Bud clone if I had better temp control.
