Doing a Brookyln pub crawl Saturday and it doesn't look like Spuyten hasn't updated their tap list on the website or Beermenus in ages. Is it updated somewhere else? Surprised that such a noteworthy place wouldn't have an updated list.
Don't pay attention to the bottle list while your in there either. You have a one in ten chance that they have what they actually list.
I think they have a facebook page where you can find a more updated draft list. I was there on Saturday and the draft selection was outstanding. More often than not, you find out what they have on tap when you get there.
Although I'm critical of them for listing bottles that they haven't had in months the draft list is usually up to date. Sorry if I came off as an asshole.
There's actually an event at Spuyten Duyvil this Saturday. From their mailing list: This Coming Saturday, starting at 1pm, Spuyten Duyvil will usher out winter with some amazing bock beer from Franconia, Germany. Plus some other good things too. In Gravity Cask: 1-Weissenohe Vitac Bior- A Medieval-recipe bock with spices, first time in the US 2-Mahr's Bock- the classic version, first time in US as gravity) 3-Mahr's Ginger Bock- first time in the US 4-Weissenohe Bonator- the classic Weissenohe bock, first US gravity cask 5-Mönchsambacher Bock - first time in the US On Tap: 1. Elysian Pale Beet Bock 2. Hofstetten Sour Granite Bock Apostelbrau Dinkel Bock 3. Mahr's Saphire Weisse also we forgot to include a keg of Andorfer Dopplebock.
Though this thread is 2 years old, I am guessing the info still holds true. None of the tap list beers are what's being checked into on Untappd and I dont believe they have a plethora of loon offerings (or a '99 3F). Hate pubs that pull this shit.
They have a nice outdoor space if that's what you're looking for but usually the taplist is mediocre with no loon bottles offered besides at big events like Zwanze
This is a very annoying bar. Even their squiggly line chalkboard tap list isn't legible when your 3 feet in front of it. It's as if they are intentionally not letting the customer know whats on draft, so that they can tell you that you aren't hipster enough when you have to ask for a recommendation. Much better places in the area.
Yeah I rarely go to SD anymore unless I'm waiting for a table at St Anselm. Rather just walk over to Barcade or Sugarburg.
