    This is such a bummer to read. One of my best friends and a total beer maniac had a horrible first trade experience with a guy who promised a nice $4$ locals box and shipped about half of the $4$ value. The resulting nastiness in emails soured him on beer trading for life. I guess if you get burned early and don't have all the good memories to contextualize your experience against you just won't want to bother.... which is a damn shame. It's a really fun hobby and the more (GENEROUS and FRIENDLY) people involved the more we all benefit.

    I've got over 70 trades on BA with only the smallest of bumps here or there so it's really not that common and definitely, if you are looking at the bad traders part of the forum, that's going to be literally filtered to create a confirmation bias. Hang in there and if you ever want Northern California hops drop me a line. I always send nice boxes. :slight_smile:

    bad traders threads to me are like watching Jerry Springer, sure there are extreme cases of ridiculousness in life but it's still a small percentage :wink:

    This is great advice. All of my regular trading partners on this site were found through discussions on other threads.

    Do extras really matter? I would never trade with anyone that put someone else through hell and only sent the package after being exposed. There could be a Chocolate Rain and Black Tuesday in there and it wouldn't matter. I would hope most traders would also never deal with this guy.

    Agreed. Contents of the package are only relevant to the OP. He could have the most amazing extras in the world and it wouldn't makeup for the shenanigans

    This and not only that, the agreement was the OP would send bad trader in question a box, bad trader in question would evaluate it's worth and send back a commensurate box. Inquiring minds surely want to know whether the box bad trader in question sent was fair.
