This bucket caught my attention as I expect it to be easier to clean and easier to rack.
    Questions I have are:
    1. I ONLY brew 2.5 GAL batches. As this is a 7 GAL bucket, will I have problem with headspace?
    2. If I plan to use it for primary, secondary, dry hop, cold crash, will this device be a good fit?

Any of you have had this device? could you share some feedback?

    thanks.

Too much for 2.5 gallons, purchase a food grade bucket at the LHBS or BLowes or Home dePot.

Honestly, if you are going plastic and 2.5 gallons those Mr. Beer kegs are great. They fit in your fridge easily so you can cold crash, and have a built in airlock by design. You can even rest one end on a cd case to get the yeast to form the cake towards the back away from the spigot.

They are a little more intensive to clean, but really you just have to remove the spigot and make sure you don't use anything that can scratch it up. Some people have had issues with the spigots leaking but I had two about 2 years ago and never had a leak.

    2.5G batch size?
    MrB's LBK FTW!

    $10 each
    Easy to clean
Fits neatly into a '48QT chest cooler' fermentation chamber

    What's not to like?

I think that's the whole point of this. While there are some benefits and advantages of this thing over a carboy, at $250 price tag, I'm debating with myself weather it's worth it. But then I figured, that's the wrong reason to buy this.

Back in the days when IPODs are 10X the price than a regular mp3 player, but you would still see millions of youngsters buying them. Not because their mp3 functionality, but because it's fashion, it's COOOOOOL !!!

So I think it's the same with this thing... (to me). It looks COOL!!!

But still, my concern is that it is too big for my small batches, too much headroom. And I will have a hard time fitting it into my fridge.

For $250, I'd buy a kegging system...(and a 2.5 gal keg if space is an issue)...if u are only using a fermenter to primary, headspace doesn't matter. Cheers

I probably wouldn't use it for 3 gallons as you lose at least 1/2 gallon below the racking arm. I have one, but I bought it early and didn't pay $250 for it. Overall, I like it. I was using 6 gallon Better Bottles, and the extra headspace is great.

I bought one a about a month ago. I think its a bargain compared to other stainless fermenters, but the cone does seem to be unnecessary to me. Other than that it does seem to be very functional and compact in size. So far I'm happy I got it.
I haven't used it for small batches yet. I use a 5 gal corny to ferment 3 gal batches. I made an adjustable dip tube to transfer the beer out, works great.

I'm waiting for the 15 gallon fermenter to drop. Put my hands on the smaller one and it's the bees knees.

Weird, I read it the same way initially...the edit function has come a long way recently (see Ninja Edit)

As for "Despot", they come in many varieties...Stalin, ****** (not the hipster), and Donald Trump
