Anyone out there have a domed lid for one of their 7 gal fermenters, (preferably the 1.5” TC one)? If so, would you be kind enough to tell me what the overall height of it is? I’m trying to see if it will fit in my fermentation chamber. Thanks in advance!

In the past I've called Brewtech for tech info . . . they seemed pretty easy to talk to.

I have the domed lid on the 7 gal Brewbucket (and it f*cking rules) but mine is a 3" TC

from bottom to top of TC port its 25"

I used a reducer to use 1.5" components. I just use a TC gas post on mine. once the reducer , post and QD are on its pretty dang tall, but I have a small chest freezer and it fits.

Are you talking about for a Brewbucket specifically ? I loved this upgrade. It is MUCH more rigid of a lid than the base one. It can hold 4psi no problem, although I never go more than that to test... its great for closed transfers and harvesting CO2 from fermentation. Basically a unitank without the yeast dump.

Crap, 25” might be too tall. My chest freezer only gives me about 27”, but I would like to attach a gas QC to my fermenter, which adds a couple inches. It’ll be close.
Yes, this is for a brew bucket. I was leaning towards the domed lid for a little extra support when doing close transfers and pressurizing when cold crashing.
    Thanks for the info.

You could always build a really simple collar out of 2x4 like on a keezer to give you those extra inches.

This was the highlight upgrade of my brewery last year, could not be happier with the domed lid. I used the 'closed transfer kit' they sell for the flat lid and lost a couple bottles of CO2 before I gave up on it. Haven't had the slightest leak so far with the domed lid
