No, I don't like what we have here more than Founders (across the board that is).

Endeavour is on of the few Saint Arnolds beers I ever buy. Personally I like Double Trouble more than Endeavour and think Centennial kicks Elissa to the curb.

Hop Delusion is the only DIPA in TX that I think is better. Luckily its coming out right at the end of DT's run.

Do we even want to debate Winter Stout vs FIS? lol

All Day IPA isn't meant to be as full bodied and heavy as traditional IPAs. It is more of a pool, lake, or whatever you want during the day type of beer without so much of a punch. That beer isn't meant to be compared to their regular IPA, which is Centennial at 7.2% ABV. Most breweries are making lighter day time beers that can be enjoyed without too much alcohol. That's like comparing light ranch dressing to regular ranch dressing...lol. Sorry only thing I could think of this morning...lol

Centennial IPA is really the comparison to Elissa and that is subjective to what you prefer. I like Centennial way better than Elissa. With that said, fresh Endeavor is better IMO than Double Trouble due to the fact that DT is just to sweet on the finish for me. Founders stouts are better though all around to me. Haven't really had an SA that compares.

Gotcha. I am looking forward to some of the Founders Stouts. I missed KBS this year, it was gone before I even knew it was here :slight_frown: . But FBS shouldn't be that hard to get a hold of, right? And apparently they make a pretty mean porter. I've said for a while that TX breweries have been lacking in the stout department.

If you missed out on KBS, are in Houston-area, and can make it to the Nobi bottle share this Sunday (June 2nd @3:30), I'll give you a bottle. And I'll bring a FBS to share around so everyone can get a taste.

They haven't sold KBS or FBS bottles in Texas yet right?

I was sad when Nobi didn't get any of the KBS on draught.

Overall, yes, but Buried Hatchet, Pumpkinator, Convict Hill (pretty good last time I had it), Temptress, and a few others are pretty damn good.

FBS will be available around October. Its actually my favorite of the breakfast stouts, and I'll be buying at least a case, assuming its readily available

Founders makes one of the best Coffee Stouts period,
but I really don't care for Double Trouble & All Day is great, but I wouldn't
trade for it (No founders in TX). Centennial has Elissa beat, & beat hard.

St. Arnold's Endeavor is one of my favorite IIPAs when fresh ( thanks Brad :] )
& their Icon Series is simply incredible. Blue is now my alltime favorite BIPA.
Also their Fancy Lawnmower & Weedwacker are some of my favorite hot-weather beers.

    they both have solid brews.

cheers to TX for finally gettin' em.

I'll be there too in several weeks. Or I'll give one to an SA guy and have him mule it to you.

I like the breakfast stout as well, but the coffee is a bit on the roasty side for me...I think the coffee in Sputnik is much more pronounced, but it doesn't have the mouthfeel of FBS.

Haven't tried the All Day IPA, but here is how I rate Founders against SA

    Centennial > Elissa
    Double Trouble = Endeavor
KBS, FBS and FIS > Texas Stouts (incl SA)

I came here hoping they had an Outsiders style rumble. This thread disappoints me.

You think $10/bottle for a pretty good (not BB2, as that was not enjoyable) barrel-aged beer is a great deal?

You can have my share. They're all yours.

Every beer is "sessionable" depending on how slowly you drink it!
