St Arnold vs Founders

SA summer pils is a good pilsner. Overall, most SA beers are just a tad too sweet. Punmkinator and Endeavour are special. TheIr stouts need some work but it seems their intent on getting it right. Man, Ive enjoyed having Founders down here. It's such a symbol of the progression of beer in TX. Their ipas have been fantastic over the last month. In Texas now, we get the prilidge of choosing from many highly rated IPA's and now we have the privledge of choosing what highly rated IPA is the freshest. GOD BLESS! #firstworldBAproblems

 

You're right, as long as people are honest. I personally find that far more people, especially those that think the beer is better where ever they're from, crap on Texas beers and point out "flaws" that they'd ignore in other beer.

Anybody who says that all Texas beer is mediocre is ignorant. We've got some world-class breweries... I'd count Live Oak, Jester King, Hops & Grain, (512), and Freetail among them. Personally, I don't care what other people say... it's already hard enough to get some locals as is without the rest of the country going batty over our beer (which, through trading, there is already a lot of).

I've drank in quite a few states and had quite a few mediocre/shitty beers (mostly because I'll drink anything once), so it's not just a local thing.]

... ... still don't know how you compare St. Arnold to Founders though.

I was at a gas station in rural Colorado last week during our honeymoon going down from the mountains into Denver. We stopped at a gas station to refill (no pay-at-the-pump) and the gas attendant asked where we were travelling from.

My wife had a similar experience last time she was in Germany, but it went more like

People from Colorado often have an irrational hatred of Texas. It's almost always from people who have never been here or never met anyone from TX.

I'm not a fan of those turds. I love Colorado and the people from there that are rational.

 

I know that in southwest CO it is because they get a lot of Texas tourists who, like all tourists, are annoying. It is the same reason why people in San Diego have a strong dislike of people from Arizona. You get enough tourist from one place and unless your livelihood depends on the tourists, you grow to dislike them.
