I just had one of these over Thanksgiving and I was blown away. Abt12 is already my all time favorite beer.

So it's too late to try to make this before Christmas but I would like to give it a shot late summer and age it a few months in time for the Holiday's. There is very little on the net about this. Heck...there's very little on the Abt12 on the net.

The Christmas Ale tastes alot like Abt12 but with some cookie like flavor. So I'm sure there are some secret spices in their too that I cannot detect.

So I need help cloning this thing. Any ideas?

From what I understand Abt12 is more or less Westy blue (could be wrong about which one), and there are a good amount of clone attempts for that online. It could be as simple as subbing in some biscuit malt.

This. Find a good Westvleteren 12 recipe and you're 85% there. The last 15% will take some trial and error.

Nail a good Westvleteren 12 recipe and still be happy, even if there's a lot of trial and error later...

how about any Christmas spices? nutmeg, cinnamon, all spice.....maybe just a little though.

Some reading I've done suggests that the brewer uses no spices at all.
