Non snarky answer - I've never heard of anyone calling out someone('s wife) for cutting in line and having it work out for them. Last year I called out 2 people for cutting in line in front of me at a Jewel release and they turned around, looked at me, then went back to their friends and ignored me.

Until a store has someone out there all night watching the line and giving people numbered wristbands/tickets, it won't change, unfortunately.
