Hey all, I'm going to be in St Cloud, MN for the weekend (coming in from Chicago) and will be able to make a trip to the twin cities. Any suggestions for good bottle shops to check out/any local brews? Thanks!
Local Brews to pick up, IMHO: Anything from Surly…Surly Abrasive (DIPA) is in stores now. Midnight Rider and Day Tripper from Indeed brewing are wonderful. Fulton Brewing's Worthy Adversary (Imperial Stout) might be found on some shelves still, had it on tap and it's very solid. Bottle shops: Ale Jail in St. Paul, Blue Max in Burnsville, Heritage Liquor in north St. Paul and, despite the name, Booze Mart in West St. Paul are the one I frequent. If you're coming in on 94 hit Casanova's in Hudson WI for some great breweries not avail in MN (but maybe in IL, hard to say) Also Zipp's liquor and The Four Firkins are great. I'm sure people will mention others!
I just opened a liquor store and bar/restaraunt in Hollywood. Hwy 7, 40 miles west of Mpls. Serving 18 taps and following up on craft beers. Everyone says the food is crazy. Hollywood Roadhouse
Go to Westside Liquor (Waite Park Location by the mall). They will have pretty much everything available, though the Sartell store is also good. Bars...White Horse and Old Capital Tavern are your best bets.
