This might be a noob question, but I live in the western Twin Cities and will be heading to St Croix Falls over the weekend. I was hoping someone could tell what is available across the border? Anything specific I should pickup? A good craft beer store to visit?
I stopped at a Marketplace foods in SCF, and I picked up the normal Wisconsin available beers: New Glarus and Oskar Blues. They are located on the east side of town near the McDonalds. They had a pretty impressive variety, and I also picked up a couple of NG glasses. As a fellow Minnesotan, we often forget that grocery stores in other states can sell good beer, and good beer that's not 3.2.
New Glarus at Marketplace was all on sale for 6.99 last time I went through. Fruit beer 750's were 7.99. Far and away the best selection in the area
I know (at least a year ago, last time I looked) you could get Three Floyds in Hudson. So at least it gets as far as Western WI sometimes.
Yep, Marketplace foods has really expanded their beer selection, so I would stop there. If you can get to Osceola, (Valley Spirits) they have a decent beer selection there as well, and will usually carry some different items.
