I also like Post Road. Unlike many pumpkin beers, it doesn't try to be pastry. I like the bitter finish.

After having it recently I have to agree. It isn't in the same sweet category as Choklat, Creme brulee etc. I found it very easy to dispatch my bomber.

Pumking ruined fall beer for me last year....I will never drink a pumpkin flavored beer again. Tasted like jelly belly burnt popcorn flavored jelly beans in liquid form...thanks but no thanks.

If you're looking for a more subtle pumpkin beer, try CBC's Great Pumpkin. Only 4.4%

It was a little TOO subtle for me, I prefer Pumking, myself. Liquid pumpkin pie, so good.

Yea maybe if they are in MA...CBC doesnt ship outside of MA if I am not mistaken. Can't see someone wanting to trade for a pumkin beer but I guess if people like them enough...CBC makes great beer so I might actually try one next time I pick up stuff.

I laughed out loud to this. I loved Creme brûlée though.

No, I don't mean it was just released. This was one of my favorite pumpkin beers, but then 2010 and 2011 happened and it sucked and sucked, respectively. Now, it tastes like it used to so go out, buy a couple, and enjoy.

I used to be a "must be a palate change" guy, but, at least for this beer, it's not the case. Feel free to tell me how much of an idiot I am.

Well that doesn't sound like much fun at all.

I agree - I've always loved Pumking though.

I don't care for spiced beers mostly and the one time I bought this it was the most in your face mercury-tasting-metallic thing ever. I forced a couple sips and drainpoured the bomber, I believe it was 2009. But apparently some people love that, to each his own.

I am a huge advocate of the oak aged version of this. It's SO much less sweet and way more drinkable. It's too bad it's draft only every now and then.

two years ago was my first go at pumking and i loved it, if that was a bad year for it than I cant wait to have it now! I had one that I kept in a dark corner in my house last year for a few months, I think around february and it was spectacular as well, seemed to really mellow out a lot of the flavors.

I dunno, I thought last years was great, the year before not so much. I had a bottle of this years and it was good as last year, but I just tapped my keg last night (managed to finally get a hold of one) and it was........OMG GOOD! Best pumpkin beer out there.
