The Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton has the best combination of selection and price. There's a good Craft Beer Cellar near there as well. Another Craft Beer Cellar is in south city, and Gezellig and St. Louis Hop Shop are also good spots depending on what parts of town you'll be in.
