Any interest in exploring neighborhoods? I’m a big fan of STL walking beer tours with food as the end game.[/QUOTE]
I’ll have to check out the walking beers tours! Thansk

Busch Stadium is a good time, plenty of beer options in the park.

Side Project does 1/2 pours that are 1/2 the cost + $0.50 I think; the size of the pour/half pour will depend on the beer as they vary depending on style. Also, this does not apply to cask pours as though are only sold as full pours. Check out their website as it is usually up to date at least 30 mins prior to open: http://www.thesideprojectcellar.com/

Hey COBEERHUNTER, I was just trying to gauge if you like walking around and exploring cities when you visit. As an example, I had an extra day in Denver last fall cuz my buddies took an earlier flight. I walked from downtown to Spangalang Brewery, then to Good Zuur, up to Mockery with a stop at Crooked Stave. Just a bunch of exploring.

You said you want restaurant suggestions and that you may be going to a ballgame. So...

    Ballgame.
Park at 4 Hands Brewing (great beer) for the game. $10? Walk from there to the game. You'll get a nice view of downtown and Busch Stadium. Stop at the Flying Saucer before the game. Really good tap list and decent food. If you're up for it, stop at Kilroy's or Paddy O's for a Bud.

    Central West End.
Great place to walk around. Park near Dressel's, some of the best food in St. Louis and always good beer. Walk down to iTap CWE for a great tap list. Walk back to Dressel's for food. Also right by a Pi Pizzeria and Llywelyn's Pub, more great food and beer.

    The Grove.
Park by Urban Chestnut. Walk to Gezellig tap house and bottle shop, a severely underrated place in STL. On the way stop at Sauce on Side for an amazing calzone.

    Downtown
Maybe split this one up. Park near the Schlafly tap room and walk down Washington avenue. Stop at Hair of the Dog. A dive beer with an outstanding tap list. Plenty of sours. Keep going to Bridge Tap House and Wine Bar. Bridge is the best combo beer bar and food in STL, hands down.

I got more... maybe a dedicated thread.

I don't think 2nd Shift gets enough credit in general. Awesome range of styles and they're all damn good. I'd also say they are mildly more kid-friendly because they have a free arcade game, board games with large tables, cats running around, and enough space for a family to fit in easily. Plus, the food they serve is from Guerilla Street Food, which was just named best restaurant on some list. Also damn good. Civil Life would probably get my #2 vote for kid-friendly because of all their games as well. Many good options in general!

Lots of big cities have a dedicated thread for places to go, most of which update quarterly, so that questions such as the OP can get answered pretty quickly. I think StL has achieved high enough craft beer status that we should have our own as well! (example: https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...summer-2018-update.571088/page-2#post-6100785)

I've been thinking this same thing. If you do a topic search there are a crap ton of them w/ St Louis in the name. Would be nice to have a general StL thread in addition to the Side Project one
