St. Patty's Day in NYC

    Hey Everyone,

    Does anyone know of anything fun happening in NYC this St. Patrick's Day. I'd love to find a beer-centric bar doing some sort of fun, Irish themed event.

    McSorley's is a great old tavern with excessive atmosphere - and large crowds. The beer, which is contracted out, is very underwhelming. My personal choice would be Paddy Reilly's, owned by the great musician, and home to much Iriish traditional music and several taps of sweet, sweet, Guinness, the only beer served.

    true but there's no other place like it. Go there for the experience not the beer....the dark is pretty good and after 20 or so of those little glasses you won't care anyway. Get there around 5:00AM...they open at 6:00.....really.

    The wife and I are going to see the Chieftains at Carnegie Hall that night after the parade. Agree with the others about McSorleys...if you get there after sunrise, you're probably too late...

    Rattle n Hum is also a pretty good scene on St Paddy's Day - and they have a good selection of craft beers.

    yeah, every bar in the city will be hopping! You will never get into McSorleys.
