Is anyone else going to this? The beer list was just posted today: 2013 Program

Nothing really special again, but going with a large group so it should be a good time. I got bored and made a spreadsheet of all the beers in case you are going and want to make a custom list. :grinning:

As usual I will attend, I always go. Nothing usually extravagant but sometimes breweries sneak in something not on the program. I use this one to try other breweries or beers I have not had before. Here's to hoping the weather holds out  my CEO is flying into town and we're going so come on MN show the guy from San Francisco good weather.

I will probably run into you then. Any beers that you are looking to try?

I am looking forward to the beer fest only beer from Tallgrass and Third street. The Cheesecake Dreamline from Flat Earth sounds delicious. Quite a few new Town Hall beers and it will be nice to try some of the ones I haven't had from Northbound/Dangerous Man/Indeed.

Every beer had a description, except for Surly Bender, would be awesome if they brought a little bit of Moes!

Mango coconut masala from Town Hall will be there. They made a really small batch about a month ago, but it never went on tap. It was good, very different.

That Boyz N "The Hood" cask from Tallgrass sounds very interesting! As does the Porcupine Unidragon from Clown Shoes. Also...fresh squeezed IPA from Deschutes....all Citra!

The newer local breweries are the most appealing to me and TH Mango Coconut. I haven't tried many of the newer brewers from the past year beyond Indeed.

I always enjoy anything new from Tallgrass, I wonder if my buddy'll be there. He's their sorta Mascot, basically the dude they have on the Oasis cans, he's got a rocking mustache and is normally at their events, I used to work with him WAY back in the day.

The Rejewvenator sounds interseting, Homosapient from Darkhorse, Blast from Brooklyn, Chad from Lakefront, Bully Porter from Gray, Porcine Unidragon from Clown Shoes, Flat Earth almost all of em, Dark Fatha from Bent Brewstillery, Bancreagie from Baru Brothers, Brett-Saison from Bemidji, Cream Stout with Cherry cask from St Croix, Blacklist brewery, Fresh Squeezed from Deschuttes, Boyz "N' the Hood" from Third St. Those are the one's that popped for me. I'll likely forget half of em or miss em I sorta just walk in and go up and down the rows grabbing one that catches my eye at this one due to it's size.

I loved the Brooklyn Blast from last year, had that Cream Stout with Cherry at the Stillwater Brewers Bazaar and it was pretty good. Just use that Excel sheet I made above so you don't forget haha

Nugget, Citra and Mosaic hops in Fresh Squeezed. Sounds good.

Is this event better than the summer beer dabbler in July?

I'm curious about folks' thoughts about this. I thought the summer Beer Dabbler was smaller than this event, but that was back when it coincided with Highland Fest.

You can't beat the venue on this festival though. It's PERFECT for a beer fest.

Spreadsheet! That's so awesome (and USEFUL!) Thank you!!

Yeah, the only complaint I have about this festival is that there isn't enough of the special release beers. I heard last year there were some unlisted specials if you look around, but I didn't find any of those. I did like all of the new breweries, though. I haven't gotten my tickets for this weekend - still weighing whether or not I should go.

Also, I was kind of sad I didn't see Dave's Brew Farm on the list. Did I just miss them?

I didn't see them either, I also don't remember them there last year but it's quite possible I missed Daves.

I love this fest it's fun to try some new breweries out that usually are there that Ihaven't had and I can try many easy to find beers out to see if I should start picking them up and such. Plus it's cheap compared to many of the one's that have unique one offs. I found a few of the unique ones last year, there's usually some casks Fulton tends to have one or two and Fitgers had some different ones. Most had schedules posted outside their booth.

We do very few fests, in fact the only one we'll be pouring at is Great Taste. Holding open Tap Room weekends is a much better use of time and resources (as a one-man operation), plus the one-on-one connections here with customers is far superior. It just fits our business model (which is unlike most breweries...).
Hope y'all can make it out here soon!
