I've completed multiple trades where shipping was not an issue. On some of the ales and porters, I've noticed a freshness difference from those I've enjoyed where friends drove them down. Although noticed, the differences were still acceptable.

I've noticed traders retrading beers which were obviously shipped to them.

My question to the brew guys or those who have more experience with retraded beers....

Does the multiple shipping hurt the beers enough to shy away from? For now before your feedback, I've be willing to add a plus to get it from an "original owner" than take a chance otherwise.

    Thanks for any feedback.

Not sure if it makes a difference, but I avoid trading for beers that I think are being retraded, especially IPAs.

The only thing I can relate this to is how many times to beers get moved and shaken up doing transport and stocking. And reading comprehension owned me here, I read both post as ******ed beers and wondered WTF was going on lol.

I would think that even if they were shaken up in transport, unless the seal is broken, the CO2 would remain in the beer and shouldn't affect anything. But I could be wrong.

I dont think it is an issue. You stated that beers that were "shipped" tasted different than beers that where "Driven". I know that I send all of my trades via Ground transportation. So they are still technically DRIVEN to me and my trading partners. I find very little difference in the taste.

If you are thinking that shipping beers via Air makes a difference in the temperture. Most Cargo holds are pressurized but not heated. So they could experience extreme changes in temperature.

Peronally I find it bad etiquette to re-trade beers that I have set up a deal to trade for. Why did I trade for that beer if I do not intend to drink or share it. Now I have been in many BIF's that I ended up trading beers I received away for beers that are more to my tastes.

But in the end it is your beer once you have it in your hands and you can trade it if you like.

When I mentioned driven beers, I was referring to these beers not being exposed to dramatic temperature changes. My friends cooler them.
