Is anyone aware of a sports arena or stadium that brew their own beer? Would you try it if they did, assuming it would be the same price as say a Sierra Nevada? Or would you just go with the SN, since you know what you're getting?

I'm almost surprised the clowns running the Red Sox don't do this.
I would try it if it was fairly priced, but it wouldn't be, so no.

Fairly priced for a stadium. Assume a 20oz BMC costs $10, would you pay $12 for a 16oz of brewed in house. Thats what I paid for Sierra Nevada recently.

Not exactly the stadium brewing their own beer (stadium owner is Denver Metropolitan Major League Baseball Stadium District), but the brewery is a subsidiary of the name on the stadium.

I don't know of any brewery inside a stadium. I know Two Brothers has a beer specially made for the Kane County Cougars (Arizona Diamondbacks Single A affiliate) called Raging Cougar Ale. It's only available at the Cougars Stadium and the Two Brothers Taphouse in Scottsdale AZ/Aurora, IL.

Come to think of it, Against the Grain is attached to a minor league ballpark, but its not like the stadium itself is brewing the beer and calling it "Red Sox Fever" or something like that.

I'll take the Sierra Nevada until someone tells me to do otherwise...seems half my life runs on that exact statement...lol...

I'd give it a try and hope they have something else to fall back on in case it wasn't that good. But of course I'd give it a try.

drink good beer before the game and bring in a flask. 10$ a pint doesn't sit well with me

If it's close enough in price to a macro, for sure i'd give it a shot.

There is a brewpub (Dempsey's) inside Camden Yards in Baltimore. I don't know what their arrangement is and the beer was not great when I went, but it's there.

Against the Grain Brewing Co. in Louisville Slugger Stadium, a minor league ballpark in Louisville, KY. Quaffed a couple here about ten years ago, but it was called Browning's Brewery then:

I think this is a great idea. Ever since I read a sweedish beer blog about how restaurants are employing brewers to compliment their menus I have thought this is a good way to bring this vocation back into prominence. brewpubs, restaurants, football teams? Well, don't turn your nose up at jobs I say.

The Durham Bulls recently set up a nano-brewery at the ballpark. The equipment was purchased and set up by the former head brewer from a local brewery. A different local brewer had a beer called Bullpen Pale Ale. The ballpark organization recently purchased that name from them with the intent to call the stadium-brewed beer by that name. The whole thing is a little strange if you ask me.

The SF Giants will have the new Anchor brewery within spitting distance of the ballpark in a few years time. Can't wait to go back home and check it out when it's done!

Ive only seen Surly... brew one for the Twins it was called Bandwagon i do see more brewpubs taking their craft to ballparks as craft brew is the new thing to have at the stadium and so many new pubs opening its a great tie in for both involved IMO

Thanks for this. This is exactly what I was interested to see what out there and if it is something that could really be done well.
