Both of them leak. I probably screwed them on too tight so they are no longer airtight. Will the starsan lose its effectiveness from exposure to air?
I've had a couple of them break, and sort of fixed the cap with duct tape. As long as you keep it from evaporating, I would think it's okay. But since they seem to be so brittle, I'm going to start saving the caps that don't break.
That's a great idea, except I've only used 1.5 oz (tops) in a year+ from the 16. It will be a while before I buy #2!
The caps on my bottle cracked too. I replaced them with caps from 2 liter soda bottles. They fit the threads just fine, at least for my particular bottle of star san.
I was hoping to be the first to say that. I tried duct tape, and didn't want to go to a mason jar. 2 liter bottle caps can be a touch different, but if you experiment with a couple of them, you should find one that fits. It looks janky, but it holds pressure. Those caps that come with the bottle overthread soo easily. Finger tight is the key. Edit: I've got the econo-jumbo sized StarSan, so it's really important that I have caps.
Same thing here. Caps broke screwing them back on. Very brittle. I fixed with duck tape. Duck tape. There's nothing it won't fix.
