I know it's an acid-based sanitizer, but I've used it on BB's and hoses before...is this something I definitely want to (even at recommended dilution rates) switch up and use Idophor or something like that instead? I only ask now because I need to order a bunch more sanitizer at the same time as some grains from NB, as even $8 shipping adds up for multiple orders...

Iodine will stain your plastics, stick with the star San and be sure to follow the dilution ratio and you should be fine.

I use Starsan on BB for several years. No worries. I never measure, just dump some in. That big bottle of Star san lasts me forever. And I use the BB most often, cuz it's so much lighter and easier to clean then lugging a heavy ass glass carboy around.

I use it on my better bottles with no ill effects.
