Start shaped pellicle/yeast colonie/mold?

    Kind of cool looking, anyone have any more info why its star shaped?

    No idea on the star shape, do you have a brew belt on this? also what did you pitch?

    No brew belt. It's wyeast lambic blend about 10months old so I'm not really surprised or worried just curious.

    I have seen more different-looking pellicles on various pictures I have seen around, and it seems you get what you get when it comes to that.

    At 9 months you are getting close to being ready to draw your first sample to taste how it is developing. That's much more exciting. Post again when you have news about how it tastes so far.

    That looks normal, though pellicles vary in appearance quite a bit. I've read you're not supposed to pierce the pellicle to draw a sample, but I've done just that and it simply reformed.

    IMO, it's star-shaped because it is forming a pentagram. Your beer is possessed. What sort of bugs did you put in there?

    In retrospect, I suppose the beer could also be saying to you, "I'm going to be a star", thus your mom is out of that scenario. :wink:
