A friend is making a starter on Saturday and said he can step it up and give me 1/2 of the starter for me to brew. But, I can't brew until the following weekend. What is the best advice for storing the starter ?

    Put it in the fridge..

Pull it out if it's an ale yeast before you brew, and decant the crap, and leave enough to shake it back into suspension or put it back on the plate.

Should be okay if sanitation was good.

What yeast is it? Some yeast can go a week in the fridge with little effects, some, like 3068 will completely unravel, in my experience, after a week.
