Hopefully getting your locally elected representatives involved helps push things to the finish line. Local community support is huge where I live and can be the reason new businesses get a chance to open or not.

I did want to share an idea about the TV/no TV debate that's been going on. Sounds like you are going with the TV option (that's what I'd do), but maybe you can hide/conceal it so that it's only the focal point when you want it to be. If it's above the bar, maybe cover it with a flag (Univ of Louisville, Kentucky state flag, etc) when you want it off, then raise or remove the flag during games.

You could offer games to your customers like chess, dice, dominoes, etc to keep them at the bar & entertained when you don't want them to focus on the TV.

    Guys and Gals,

It was a complete rehash of what I already knew. Zoning doesn't allow it. The interesting thing is that the city officials loved it. I was put in touch with a guy in the area who thinks outside the box and makes things happen. He told me to keep believing and that'd he'd put me in touch with the right people.

Tomorrow I do a podcast with Louisvillebeer.com about what we are doing. Will be out Tuesday.

Guys and gals, a lot has happened lately. I'll be blunt and say nothing has changed. But what I will say is that we have political support. The councilman wants us to succeed. He basically said find your place and let's zone it to your needs. That sounds great in make believe world but we will see. We have been brewing more and more batches and trying to get as much out to people to critique as possible.

If you are anywhere around central ky, Louisville, etc let me know and maybe we can get a sample to you.

Right now we are trying to find a location to have craft beer on tap and brew some of our own. Its gonna happen and I'd love to get some feedback.

There's another here in Waltham MA that is similar, The Gaff.
They basically have a tiny couch area by the front window, a bar, and a couple tables along the wall, a kitchen that is smaller than my bathroom - the cook has enough room to turn around, and that's it. If it is 25 square feet wall to wall, I'd be surprised, and cramming in fridge, cooktops and prep area?

Anyways, Wade, it does sound like you do have some people that pull weight on your side. Here's hoping you can make this swing.
