I just wanted to suggest the addition of tagging posts in the Regional Forums, similar to what is done in the
ISO:FT (In-Person) threads with the current Regional sub-forum titles (like Mid-Atlantic), but this would allow you to tag the state you were interested in in that sub-forum (so for me, I would tag most of my Mid-Atlantic posts with Maryland). This would make it easier for anyone to search for state specific threads, which is hard due to because most threads that talk about a specific state don't usually say the state in it (they usually refer to something that has to do with one state and everyone knows about, like for MD you have Max's). I don't think you would allow multiple state tagging, but for that you could just have an all inclusive tag that could just be the title of that specific sub-forum (tag Mid-Atlantic in the Mid-Atlantic forum), which would obviously be better than just not tagging that post with any state. You could also limit the tags to each sub-forum based on the states within.

You run into a problem with that though. Someone in San Jose tags California but they are not even close to someone in San Diego. You tag Maryland but can easily trade with someone in PA, DC and VA pretty easily. Not to mention areas like New England.

Just my thoughts but I like it how it is.

Well, I didn't think about California, but that is easy to work around. I don't know how you guys would want it broken down, but there could be tags for regions of California, and then California could be used as your all-inclusive tag.

I think that it is fine the way it is... In some regions the states are on the small side and people often go to other states (I'm thinking New England, Northern Jersey/NYC, and Jersey/Philly). Also, there are a number of folks that live right on the border of states and are interested in more than one.

I just don't see this as a problem and frankly most of the regional forums do not have nearly the activity of the trading forum.
