Also if you map it right, you can get off at the exit before hand and easily skip the $5-$6 toll, explain you are saving toll money and ask for 5 more minutes.

Perhaps you can time it for lunchtime, right around the corner is a good barbeque place, behind Wawa. while they're munching you can be doing your thing. also , theres a bathroom in SL, might save a b-room break for the stop.

There's a Seafood place in the State Line parking lot, it's ok , for the most part fried stuff. Options.
I was in there last weekend, on the discount rack was Jenlain Bière De Noël for a buck, wished I'd bought a bunch, its a silky malty goodie.

I have only asked for stuff like Double Duckpin and items that had tags on the shelves but the bottles were not there. They go through stock fast and may not have had a chance to replenish a shelf was what I was speaking about. Never asked for prized beers, but it is worth a shot if that is your thing.

Sadly, the barbecue place is gone.

As great as the bottle selection is at Stateline, my favorite things about them is their glassware selection and growler station (25 beers on tap) with most fills at $5 for 32oz and $10 for 64oz (so you may want to travel with some empty growlers if you have them). And you gotta tell the family with that long a drive that it's important to keep the one doing the driving happy, so they should expect a little longer stay in the Stateline parking lot.

My understanding is they just moved down the street to a better building.

Called them (410-620-6250) someone answered 'Durhams best bbq' and said they're open.

You could spend 10 minutes in one country of the foreign section...

I'll echo all the other sentiments... "quick pit stop" and "Stateline" aren't able to be put in the same sentence. Even without a gameplan, I'm sure you'll find something you're looking for. Good luck and enjoy!

I think we are all forgetting a tip - make sure you have enough space in your vehicle...

If you really want to stick to something like a 10 minute or so timeline maybe perusing their online list of beers and constructing a list would aid you. You could also construct a shopping list ahead of time and ‘phone in’ your order for a pickup?

I used to stop at State Line Liquors in return trips from business trips to the DC area. Just like @smakawhat I typically would spend closer to an hour browsing and selecting beers. I was always impressed by their selection of imports. I have zero idea on how fresh those imports are though.

I hope you and your family have a good trip.

    Cheers!

State Line Liquors BA Meet Up!? A great place for MD people to meet some PA people. Shop and share alike!

I really got the itch to head down there.

Check their website. They have a lot of tastings and such that would be perfect for a meet up. In fact tomorrow is a tasting from Allagash and Ballast Point. Fun times.

Founders is not distributed in Maryland, so no, they don't carry KBS. I can't recall seeing BCBS or Parabola there, but I would assume they get both, though I'm sure they only get a very limited supply (as that's what everyone gets), and I suspect it likely sells out quickly. Also, if they hold stuff in the back, this is the first I've heard of it. They may not put everything available out on the shelf, just to make sure some pilgrim doesn't come in from Jersey and wipe out their entire inventory. However, to the best of my knowledge, they don't hold beer back that you need a special handshake to buy, or that is only available to "special" customers. That's never been their style, in my experience.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The biggest thing this has done for me is get my wife to realize we need more time there. I do have a list, but am open for surprises. I will have a growler just in case (and a cooler with ice). And there is a designated spot in the car. We are leaving earlier (Thursday night) than we normally would just to get there before closing time. I feel like I will need to post a list of my aquirements. I will be getting there at the end of an Allagash/Ballast Point tap take over. Too bad I will have another 10 hours to drive

I would like to visit State Line, yet not at this moment in time. I'm saving money for a new vehicle.
