Are there any good beer bars or breweries that I should check out while in downtown?

I haven't been up there in a while, but my friend who still lives up there tends to go to Madison Pour House, City Beer Hall, and Druthers.

albany ale and oyster house or something (used to be beer belly) has great taps often, a solid bottle shop selection and a pretty dope rueben.

Albany Ale & Oyster is the spot. Best tap list you'll find in Albany and a great (but small) bottle shop up front. Fantastic reuben, as was mentioned. City Beer Hall is great, too, but I wanna say they have a beer dinner tonight and are closed to the public.

Other spots depending on what's close to you:

    - Madison Pourhouse
    - Capital City Gastropub
    - The Excelsior Pub (All NYS beers, all NYS foods, killer spot)
    - Lionheart (college bar, but great taplist and cheaper than everyone else)

    Breweries:

    - C.H. Evans/The Pump Station makes some really good stuff, cool spot, good food.
    - Druther's is ehhh beer-wise, but cool place and good food.

Also, little bit of a trek from downtown but Westmere Beverage is the best beer store you will find anywhere.

The ruck is by far my favorite spot on the Albany area. And it's open until 4am.
