Hey all, I'll be flying to Virginia this weekend, and staying near Charlottesville for the next ~2 months. Just want to find out what good breweries might be worth visiting, and what bottle offerings I need to check out while I'm there. I'm from California so looking for things I can't get here normally.
Champion Brewing (9 taps) and Three Notch'd (10-12 taps) are the best located near downtown CVille. South Street Brewery also located downtown. Head about 15mins west and you have a stretch of road (Rt 151) with several great breweries. Some being Blue Mountain, Devils Backbone, Wild Wolf. All very good and have a restaurant as well. Bold Rock Cider down this stretch as well has amazing views. 45 minutes east of CVille and you have Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery. A Farm brewery that puts out great beers. If you want to travel a little farther than about an hour east (Richmond) or West (Staunton/Harrisonburg) has some pretty solid breweries too. Beer Run in Charlottesville is the premiere bottle shop in the area
