Well, it looks like openings on Saturday are getting crazier and crazier. I was one of about a dozen or so in line at opening. If you just wait til 11:30-12, you should be fine. And yes, they'll fill everything. Be sure to try Daily Bread.

These guys are 10 minutes from my work. They're making really solid brews. I think Coalesce is my favorite. Their beers tend to finish a little too bitter for me personally (leaving that sand paper tongue feeling behind). But, I will still continue to hit them up. Nice guys too!

Yeah that same dry finishbis part of what makes me love Steady Habit. You get that when the beer is really attenuated ie most of the sugar is fermented away by the yeast. For me, a perfect IPA is juicy up front with lots of flavor, then it dries way out and/or gets pummeled by hop bitterness. The Steady Habit mouthfeel is spot on for me.

Also, i think i might agree on Coalesce, that beer is nuts. I last bought Our Daily Bread, Coalesce, Rye Session, and Method, and Method was the surprise standout for me. I love all 4 anyway, but i killed the Method growler in one sitting and marveled over how great it was the whole time.

Oh man, Our Daily Bread was tasting so good last night out of the growler. Also took home growlers of the Shorty saison and both Hop and a Dream beers he had Saturday. Really love what Jon is doing!!!

Not sure which beer you have had that does that, but I have had Geek Nip, Equinox/Galaxy IPA, Method, and Our Daily Bread and I have yet to experience that.

They fill 67 oz swingtops as if they are 64 oz growlers.

I was luck enough to try Method out of the brite before it was released the first time. Phenomenal. Jon is pumping out some killer pale ales and IPAs.

Everyone's different. I thought Geek Nip aroma and up front taste were amazing, but after drinking one I was left with a very bitter after taste that lingered. Daily bread and Method were similar.

If anyone's hitting up Hops for Hope this weekend and missed out on Jon's Easter stout, BBB - it'll be pouring there (and SH will also be closed this Sat). Along with ODB, Method and and his Galaxy IPA. Should be a good time. Not to mention all the other awesome breweries in attendance.

    nice. i loved that beer.

i'm telling you, it's dryness. you'll either develop a liking for it, or always hate it. i bet you'd really love their DIPAs. coalesce is exploding with hops but not as dry as the other ones. up the alcohol and, usually, you'll end up with a less attenuated beer and thus less dry.

for me, pilsners and IPAs should be dry as a bone, but not everyone agrees. there's tons of super hoppy IPAs out these days that aren't so dry, especially on the higher end of the ABV spectrum.

    ---

coming up to CT this weekend. shame i'm missing out on hops for hope, but i'm sure everyone there will enjoy it just as much as i would. very curious about the hoppy beer willimantic is bringing. anyway, i'll probably have my parents grab me a growler or two from steady habit on friday. i'm sure everyone cares about this :grinning:

I believe he should have plenty per the site blog. I was going to try and help out but regretfully wont be able to make it this weekend. Dont forget to hit up Lasting Brass while you're there.

Yeah saw that so hope its still around. Can't wait to try some of Ed's beers. He's in the process of opening up a brewery as well in case people haven't heard. Definitely comes highly recommended.

Agreed. For me, Big Bad Bunny Stout was definitely one of the stand-out beers of the festival. Milk Stout with toasted coconut and vanilla bean. Think its available for growler fills this week. If so, DEFINITELY worth a trip. Wow.

I stopped by on Friday and suggest that if Behold Pale Ale is available, make sure you bring a big growler, the stuff is beautifully crushable. Such a good beer. Galaxy IPA was spot on as well, but that Behold I can drink non-stop.
