This got touched on in a different thread, but there was a nice article on these guys in todays Bend paper: http://www.bendbulletin.com/localstate/2789427-151/brewing-in-burns#
Never been down there, or in that part of Oregon. My folks went camping there a couple of years ago, that's the only reason I know of it. Apparently, Steen's Mountain is essentially a tall, big-ass ridge 50 miles long. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steens_Mountain I think this means craft brew is now made in every corner of Oregon, no matter how thinly populated!
I just now made the connection to that thread on Oregon City Brewing thanks to your reference. Nope, only Carp Drool Nut Brown for you! :-)
“What variety (the wild hops) are, I have no idea. I talked to some of the guys at the hop farms and they told me not to waste my time figuring out what they are. Just call them whatever you want and see what works.” That's fucking awesome.
