I'm making an extract beer with specialty grains (a creme ale), and I can see that some of the grains leaked out of the bag. I should strain this pre-wort that I have before I proceed shouldn't I? Won't the boil extract tannins from the grain?

I would get the grains out as well as you can, then proceed.

Thanks, I ran it out of the kettle through a mesh strainer into another pot. Rinsed out the kettle, and poured back throught strainer with a paint strainer bag in it. I guess I probably won't use the grain bags typically used in kits anymore and stick with synthetic mesh.
