I only began to like Guinness (Extra Stout) after I got into craft beer, including imperial stouts. Before craft, I was scared of of dark beers (now I laugh at this). It's not something I really ever buy, but if offered, I will certainly drink and enjoy it. Earthy and satisfying.

I had a Guinness Extra Stout earlier today, I enjoy it. I never had the Foreign stout.

I've always thought Guiness is a weak but astringent beer. There are other better but similar options I would have instead. Aphrodisiac or St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout are often on Nitro around Toronto.

Drank it 15 years ago when doing the Atkins diet. Glad that's over. Rather drink and eat what I want and be 15 pounds overweight

I drink Guiness in China because it's imported here. I never drink Guiness in the U.S. I prefer Murphy's over Guiness.

Foreign Extra Stout is awesome and I would love to find some. Haven't seen around here in over a year.

Used to, until I approached the bar one day to order one and a kid who couldn't have been 21 more than a couple years ago, total stranger in fact, heard my order and said... "It's really good. You'll like it".

I will never buy bottles (or cans) of Guinness again, but occasionally order it on tap. If it's the only porter/stout available, and I'm in the mood for such, then I will grab a pint. I'm never completely satisfied with it, but I'm never completely dissatisfied, either.

Yeah sure. Just like every beer out there, it has it's time and place

Guinness Draught & pale lager are the reason why for many years I thought that I didn’t like beer.

If you feel the need to drink something Irish – there is always Porterhouse.
Porterhouse Celebration Stout Barrel Aged is delicious.

If your dive bars have Guinness on tap you need to find a better/worse class of dive bar. Where I come from BMC is "fancy man" beer in the dives.

Short story...New Years Eve this year. My wife and I are at our favorite tap house and this girl walks in, sits next to me, and ordered a Guinness. She proclaimed that Guinness is the best stout out there. As she was drinking it I ordered her a Founders Breakfast Stout. She says "what's this?", I said give it a try, Short story short. She left, empty glass of Breakfast Stout....3/4 glass full of Guinness.

I agree with that...back in 1984 it was a dark monster but now it's just one of many in a style...I still drink it.

On occasion, but with deep Cork roots, Murphy's would be my first choice. Up the Rebels.

Just about anywhere I go that serves a Guinness has other options I find preferable. Prob haven't had one in 5 years. Not a hater, just not a lover.

I will imbibe for sure, low ABV and due to its thickness I normally cant drink many of them, so then I don't wake in a fog....

It's fine.. Usually an option along side your typical macro brews and I tend to go with Guiness over the others.

We've been through this recently, once again, on another thread. The Guinness draught in Ireland is no more "amazing" than the Guinness over here. It's the exact same beer brewed at the same brewery.
You're just repeating the world's longest running beer myth.

The only time in probably 15 years that I've had Guinness was several years ago, when my family that I was traveling with insisted on going on the Guinness tour in Dublin. I ordered the Foreign Extra. It was okay.
