Heading back to NOVA friday, trying to stock up on goodies including Stillwater stuff. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks Also if anyone wants to work out an IP trade let me know, i have access to Russian River, Funkwerks, Crooked Stave etc...
It depends on which ones you're looking for. I've seen some at Whole Foods (Fair Lakes) and Arrowine (Arlington) but I usually see the most diversity of selection at Whole Foods (14th & P) in DC.
Call ahead first but total wine chantilly and norms beer and wine will probably have Stateside, cellar door and maybe Our side the Mikkeller colab. These are the only three that I have seen recently.
Was just at Norms. They had at least one bottle of "Our Side" and a case of "As Follows". Didn't see Stateside or Cellar door. But I was kind of a hurry so I could of missed them.
Yea I'm good on stateside and cellar door love them both looking to try others including the BA versions. Guess whole foods DC and Connecticut wine are the best spots to go?
They can be... as always, call first. Connecticut Ave Wine & Liquor - (202) 332-0240 Whole Foods Market - (202) 332-4300
To clarify in addition to what DaGrizz said, 25-to-1 was re-released and re-labeled as Folklore. To chime in with what others said, DC usually has a much better selection of Stillwater than Virginia does, and the Whole Foods on 14th and P NW has one of the best, plus it's only two blocks from Churchkey.
Looks like that's my spot then! Are prices completely inflated because its DC or is it normal? i had planned on making a quick trip to Churchkey anyway
Prices are more expensive than in Virginia, but are pretty reasonable for DC. I don't think prices there are much higher than prices for the same stuff in the Virginia Whole Foods locations. Stillwater stuff is generally a bit pricey in general, though. As far as Churchkey and saisons go, they might still have on Bluejacket Sidewalk Saison. Bluejacket is the offshoot brewery owned by the restaurant group that owns Churchkey, the Rustico locations, and a few others. It's slated to open in 2013, but they've started doing collaboration brews. Sidewalk Saison is the first "Bluejacket" beer, as it was brewed by Bluejacket's brewer, Megan Parisi, at an Iron Hill location.
Not amazing, but worth a shot, especially since they do 4oz pours of anything. I think it was $2.50 for a short pour of that one.
I'm sure technically it's out there somewhere. I know a friend of mine has a bottle of it in his fridge. I don't believe any more has been brewed yet though.
Last...Saturday, I was at Cairo Liquors, and they had a bottle or two - but I had no idea of their age. Cairo is at 17th and Concoran - if you walk from Connecticut Avenue Liquors to Churchkey via the P Street Whole Foods (or vice versa), it's like a block or two out of your way.
A ton of Stillwater stuff is hitting NOVA starting this week. As Follows will hit stores this week. We sold out our entire case at my store already, however. 12% kicked it into gear and is gonna (hopefully) start steadily supplying NOVA with Stillwater stuff. If you find Wings now, don't even bother.
