I made a 1.5 L starter tonight and when I put it on my stirstarter plate I couldn't get any spinning. I tried everything . I could hear it spinning but it wouldn't move the starter at all. I have a 2000 edimeyer flask and the bottom isn't flat. So what do I do at this point??

Do it the ol' fashioned way and give it a good shake/swirl whenever you walk by or remember.

Also, buy a better flask for next time, I suppose?

You were close . . . but you wanted an Erlenmeyer flask which has a flat bottom by definition. Pretty sure you'll never get a non-flat bottom to work, so shaking is about all that's left. When this starter is finished, try filling the flask with water and stirring, you can see the action of the stir bar and any(?) vortex it creates.

BTW, owning an Erlenmeyer flask is illegal in Texas.

You learn something new every day.
Texas: open-carry ARs - in. Glass flasks - out.
