Hey folks, first ever post in the Midwest sections as a NJ resident. Heading down to St. Louis for the last week of July. Any recommendations on what places I should swing by? I'm specifically looking for good bottle shops. I've been to schafly so that's gonna be at the end of the list for this trip. Definitely open to suggestions for bottle shops or tap rooms. Any input you can provide is of course greatly appreciated.
The Wine and Cheese Place in Clayton is probably the best. Other places include Randalls, Lukas Liqours, Wolfbrau and Friar Tucks. http://stlhops.com/st-louis-beer-guide/
i agree with spartan, i do most of my shopping at wine and cheese, randalls and friar tucks probably being tied for second, never been to lukas but heard a lot of good things about them, and wolfbrau carries good stuff, even though it is a really small store, so it wont have a really big selection, but it is solid
Lukas tends to have certain beers longer than other places, very nice selection there but not a convenient location unless your in chesterfield at Itap or something
Just came back from St. Louis trip. I agree Wine & Cheese has a big selection. However, if you're looking for local St. Louis stuff, my suggestion is the Schnuck's Market downtown. It had local selections not available @ Wine and Cheese and had something from each brewery. I'd also suggest growler from Perennial if you can get it back easily. My fav beer of the weekend was 2nd Shift Art of Neurosis. If you can find it and you're an IPA fan, don't miss it. Good luck!
Thanks so much for the info guys, def. pumped for the trip now.... Wine & Cheese sounds like a go to for sure. I'll swing by the others as time permits.... My uncle is old law school buddies with Tom Schafly as well, so I'm going to try and give him a "cold call" prior to heading out to see if we can meet up lol.
I tried to go to Wine & Cheese on a Sunday before I moved here...don't do that.
