I'm not too familiar with the drive down, any stops along the way? Any MUST visits i.e. bottle shops/bars while I'm there? Seems like the memphis taproom and joe's wine and liquors are well reviewed (it's a start). We do have a flying saucer in STL, so I may not need to visit the one in memphis, unless I'm missing an event or something There didn't seem to be much posted in the midwest forum about memphis in general...my baseline knowledge about the area is minimal. Cheers
Was in Memphis about a month ago for a guys weekend and the best food and beer combo I found was Central BBQ Downtown (stellar BBQ and Yazoo on tap). Although no beer to be found there, Cozy Corner was one of the best meals I had while I was there.
Tennessee is in the South forum. Bosco's in Memphis is a decent brewpub. Personally, I would hit the Saucer because you can count on a large selection and there will be beers not distributed in MO. You could also consider stopping at Crown Valley and Charleville in the Sainte Genevieve area on your way down.
