    Hey guys - quick question.

I really like Firestone's Velvet Merlin. However, it's a seasonal winter beer. Does it make any sense to buy a few of them to stockpile once they stop producing them? Any word on when I should start to do this? (And does anyone know if you can buy the beer in a larger size than a sixer?)

    Cheers

I just had VM for the first time this weekend. I love it and was thinking of a least buying case of it to stockpile. It's so light bodied and easy to drink but yet still flavorful....

Larger size than a 6er?? Pretty sure it doesn't come in 12 packs at least not in Colorado. You can usually buy a case and get a discount for case price. Its $32.99 at local place for a case or $9.99 a six pack

It's not going to hold up for all that long. In my opinion, though, you'd be fine drinking it right up until it's released again next year.

I recently bought a house with a cellar (and a bar in the cellar...see my profile pic) so now I can actually store some beers for the first time in my adult life. I have a few barleywines which will be sitting for the next year or so including Smutty Gravitation, a 2010 Red Hook Treble, and 4 Trout River Barleywines.

Do you know if you can buy a case of it/where in California? I haven't seen one.

I just reviewed a bottle last night that I got as an extra in a trade for FW 14 - when that beer was released. The VM was still great, although I can't say whether it was better or worse than fresh - since I've never had it fresh. I wouldn't think twice about keeping it around for a year if that's what you feel like doing.

It'll make it a year easy. Just buy two sixers next time and throw one in the cellar. It's at a low enough price to do that a few times.

Thanks for the quick responses! Does anyone know around when I'll stop seeing it on shelves? Also any possibility on buying it by the case for a discount?

    Cheers

Call or go into your local Liquor stores and ask if they give case discounts. Most will at least give 10% off at least the ones i have been too in Colorado do

Great, thanks for the quick responses! One last question - does anyone know when I might not start seeing this on shelves?
