    I've been told a number of times that what's resting in the tequila barrels is a strong brown. Doesn't taste like a barleywine at all *shrug*

    No idea what that was. I didn't go and I've never asked anyone about it.

    Funky Barrel #96 was insanely good but no idea what it was, did anyone else get a sort of grape must flavor characteristic with the Almost Legal? I knew it was a tequila ba sour, but with the soured barleywine/avant garde/Amigo I don't know where that flavor came from but I've also never had/heard of a sour barleywine so that just might be it strangely.

    The beer had a very earthy aroma, to me it reminded me of a fresh picked beet, damp and earthy. I also got a tangy sweet and sour component similar to sweet n sour cocktail mix, in the nose and aroma, which blends well with the agave character of the beer. I've had a few variations and blends of BA Avant Garde, did not pick any of that up, nor did the brewer mention it was part of the blend. I think the sour brown descriptor is what they told the bartenders to say
