I brought this with me to AC/DC at Gillette Stadium as a pregamer and its all I needed as the foamy goat piss (Budweiser) was not going to be a chaser. Full juicy hoppy flavor I was expecting, I'll be enjoying another this weekend.

You seem to have the majority opinion on this one. I didn't get any of the oniony/garlicky flavors others mention, and I am usually sensitive to those flavors in beers.

final verdict: as expected, stone *always* does it right with the specialty (D)IPAs.

Your lucky you are closer to the brewery than us east coast beer nuts.

I enjoyed this one a lot! To me it got better and better as it warmed up a bit too. Very tropical and juicey like taste to me. Way too easy to drink for an 8.7% but in a great way. Would love to have this year round.

I was absolutely blown away by how good this was. May very well end up being my favorite beer from Stone. So juicy, and so good.

My garlic/onion fear turned out to be all for naught. All tasty Tropical fruit laid on top a light foundation that stereotypical Stone bitterness. Recommend grabbing while you ca & betting this will be one of those that is much much better fresh.

Completely agree. I was really hoping for tropical fruit with a bit of a west coast bite. Instead I just honestly just a bad all be it super hoppy beer. The malt backing didn't work well here, it wasn't bad but it didn't mesh with the hop flavor. Hoping with some age it'll work a bit better.

This is the tile my parent's have in their recently remodeled bathroom (only present in the shower section). I immediately thought this was taken in your bathroom.

I've only gotten the onion/garlic notes on one or two beers. I love IPAs but bitterness as a flavor profile kind of doesn't register in my mind. I realize that is their flavor and what turns a lot of people off of them. But when people say that something is bitter, I don't really understand it from a taste perspective. I only ever get bitterness from a select few DIPAs, which results from some combination of freshness, very high IBUs, and (possibly) certain hops. To me they are just hoppy. Bitter to me is Kale, Dandelion Greens and Coffee (with a side of acidity).

I'm used to it here on the East Coast, but I hate that most IPA's we get are already a month old when they hit shelves.

I got onions not tropics. I usually like Stone IPA's but not sure they're known for being tropical. I usually think dank, resiny, piney, bitter, with a bit of malt backbone. Tropical, juicey IPA's are my favorite but never think of Stone when in the mood for one.

I absolutely loved this beer! I got major tropical fruit aroma and taste and barely any bitterness. The bottle was amazingly fresh too considering I live in NY; drank it only a couple weeks after bottling.

Still not in MD. Any other states not got it yet? Wondering where we sit on the Stone distribution footprint in terms of delivery.

Nice beer. It's not going to kick down your front door, punch you in the throat and take a crap in the middle of your living room floor. It's more likely to bring your newspaper to the front door because it noticed the sprinklers came on. And darnit if I don't appreciate it for that.
