Hey BAs, I need the opinion of you beer nerds about Stone Arrogant Bastard BBA.

It would be available here online for 6,90€ (roughly $7). Its a tad pricey for a 12oz bottle.

For those of you who had it, it is worth it? Your responses will surely make me take the decision.

    Thanks in advance.

It’s $7. Yes. It’s worth it. I’ve paid $7 for a Bud Light at a sporting event!!! P.s. never had the barrel aged version but I guarantee it’s worth the $7. Cheers.

Had this recently and barrel was almost non existent, very disappointing. While Southern Charred And Rye Bastard were fantastic, BA Arrogant fell extremely short.

Had a 12 oz. bottle back Mar 2016, was nice, but was expecting more.

    Cheers!

Worth it to try it because as BAs we generally want to try everything. Not worth it if you’ve had it.

While $7 is on the pricy side it’s relatively a small price to pay to find out if you really like it.

I purchased a six pack a couple of months ago and although I enjoyed it I found it to be unremarkable. It did not have the barrel aged taste that I was expecting. I found it a little odd tasting and honestly it went down kinda hard. I did drink it though and for 7 bucks definitely try it. I would start out with 1 though. You may not like it.

I would agree with previous posts. It's not bad, but the bourbon double bastard was much better. Not a ton of barrel on this one.

You're not worthy. Drink fizzy yellow beer instead, pink boy.

I was gifted a 6 pack of it last year at Xmas. It was pretty good. It's worth a try, but you shouldn't feel like you're missing out if you don't get some.

I haven't found any of the Arrogant Bastard offerings that I personally enjoyed as much as (the now retired) Oaked Arrogant Bastard.

Probably not. Speaking of drinks, look up ''turd in the punchbowl'' because that's what you are here.

@Shanex, go check out the reviews, remove ratings and sort by top raters. I think after a few minutes you can make up your mind. I passed on buying a 6 pack of it and then had a small pour on tap and was glad I passed on the 6 pack. But your mileage may vary.

lol. i don't have advice on the beer - haven't had it. but. i think maybe he was more making fun of the slogan associated with the beer (at your expense), as opposed to genuinely taking a crack at you.

It's a solid beer, but honestly I would find it hard to believe you don't have tons of better options at that price.

I enjoyed it quite a lot, but at almost seven euros? That's a bit steep. It's worth trying once, though.

I’m personally not a fan of that beer whatsoever. To me, it was a boozy mess without any redeeming qualities. And I really enjoy the regular Arrogant Bastard. The barrel seems to take away the great qualities of the base beer (aggressive hoppy bitterness with a spicy maltiness) and replaces it was a sweet boozy mess all the way through. Just my two cents.

Oh, and for the price, definitely not.

I had regular arrogant bastard before and I forgot about their slogan.

So apologize to this poster. Cheers

And thank you everyone for the replies!

I'm curious to what was your thoughts on the regular Bastard? I have not tried the BBA version, as I have not yet seen it here in PA, but I'm willing to give it a go! As far as the price... well, I just dropped $23 for a 750ML of Founders CBS just so I could try it, so yeah... I say if ya can afford it, go for it! Life is too short to be tight wadded about money, ESPECIALLY beer money!

P.S. I love the regulation Arrogant Bastard. :sunglasses:

I really enjoyed the BA version as it's a well rounded and balanced beer. I understand the other BAs opinion as the bourbon is not strong in that one. Still a well craft beer. I enjoyed the original version just a tad more though
