I still have a bottle that I'm considering opening some time between now and the end of the year. I was wondering if anyone has opened one within the last sixth months. How's it holding up? I feel like it might be almost passed its prime, and if so, I'll open it tomorrow!!! Cheers!

I've tried two in the past six months, one was decent but no better and probably not as good as it was fresh based on my recollection. The other had developed a strong ashy character that I found rather off-putting, but my fellow tasting buddies didn't mind. Overall I deemed aging this beer to this length of time a failed experiment.

As this was my favorite beer at the time of its release, I purchase 2 cases of it. I've had plenty over the past few years and it has never disappointed me. Most recently, I had a bottle last month and it is holding up very well. The chocolate seems to have faded a bit, but it is still a bottle I look forward to. I only have 2 bottles left and always go to grab one, but then remember I only have 2 bottles left! When you open it, enjoy!

Opened one last night and it was decent. Super mellow though. It needs to warm up a lot.
