Stone Double Bastard Magnums

I don't know if they are released every year, but the past 3 years in a row I've seen Double Bastard Magnums.

 

69.99 at Costco. Almost bought one today.

 

This year's has a vintage printed on the side. The only other one I've seen is 2012, but i don't recall if the year was printed — the design is otherwise the same, though.

Also, 2013 says that the bottle is not refillable. I think some of the earlier ones are refillable at the brewery, but I also don't know which years'.

 

$99 at my local store.

 

Double Bastard magnums are turding up the shelves at my local Whole Foods. They ordered six of them, got them when DB hit shelves and they've not sold one yet.

To my knowledge Stone has never bottled anything in a magnum. Magnums are 1.5L. They have released a number of 3L / Jeroboam / Double Magnum bottles.

 

There is an empty 2005 at one of my shops

 

Saw one when I was in Providence for $80. Wanted to pull the trigger, couldn't justify it.

 

When are they releasing the Nebuchadnezzar or a Methuselah?

 

I have seen them a few places near me for $99.

 

Anything bought at Liquor Emporium is probably skunked and over priced...
