What should I do with my Enjoy By 4/20 on 4/21?

I can't wait to do a side by side with the 4/20 which should be possible because of the overlap. I'm still seeing 4/20. might grab on to save. It would be interesting to see the difference 30 or so days makes. good reality check for how much difference I think it makes

Had the 4-20 on tap last week inbetween pours of KBS at Station House. The next day, there wasnt a bottle shop i hit looking for KBS that DINDT have 4-20 stacked. Looking forward to 5-16. i never tried 2-14 but heard it was underwhelming.

I'd be interested in trading for 5/16, it's not coming to either of my states.

That may change. Every other release has been the same. This time? Stores STILL have cases of it available. I don't know if it's because we just a ton more than usual, or if it's because we've started getting more batches, or if people just suddenly don't like it. But past sellouts don't mean that you'll have a hard time with the next batch.

As a beer lover, I like that I can see from a glance whether the beer is fresh. I can see how you could get sick of the hype, but I can't understand being sick of the convenience. I don't go out of my way to find this one, but it's one of my favorite DIPAs, and despite my hatred of bomber pricing I'll grab a bottle from each release if I see it.

4/20 was the biggest release they've done of Enjoy By to date as far as I know, and I believe Stone said that isn't going to be the norm.

I actually like the enjoy by's that aren't 9-10%. I think the 5-17-13 was @ 7% and by far my favorite enjoy by.

I must be confusing it with something else. 7/4/13 was 8% but that's about the lowest. hmm.

I think they are pushing it. Releasing the next before the current "x-date"? Talk about screwing your bars and distributors. Who is going to buy the 4/20 once the new fresher 5/16 is on the shelf?

I'll buy the next batch of this if they change the name to "Enjoy by the date of your choice but sooner is better than later"

I'm not going to tell anyone how a beer tastes to them, because that would be asinine.

But I will tell you that the difference in taste you are perceiving is far more likely to be the result of your own palate/mood/mindset changing between times that you've had the beer than it is due to any change in the actual beer. Enjoy By is always the same beer. The recipe doesn't change from date release to date release.

Enjoy By is the single greatest example of Stone's marketing prowess when it comes to beer. They managed to frame the beer in such a way that people seek it out like it is a limited release, when in reality, it is no different than any beer that is always the same beer but has different bottling runs. The combination of the huge date being the label itself, rather than a stamp or something similar in addition to the ever-changing list of markets that gets each release gives the impression that the beer itself is different each time around.

2.14 def. had a different taste than 4.20 to not only myself but 4 other people that had it here in VA, it wasn't drastic but def. different.
