It came down at a corporate level as "72 oz"... that's all it says... but we've been wrong before.

It's too pricey to purchase all the time on my budget. Otherwise I would get it more often.

I think it's a concept failing or failure. In theory I can see the concept having logic and be worth the investment. But at the same time, it makes me wonder.

I also think the format is not working, especially for the price per unit. Price is very important, and it does not fit the bill.

Are not all IPA's an "Enjoy By" ? I've read on here someone suggesting why the " Enjoy By" model is or at least is supposed to be the model of all IPA's.

I think Stone should go back to the drawing board, or scrap the effort. Having said that, Stone is and will continue to be an elite American Brewery. They can do it.

Not quite the novelty anymore but still a great brew. If it became more scarce again it would have a shorter half life.

Definitely losing the novelty a bit, but given how good 2-14 was, I'll continue to seek it out (for me it's appropriately priced too). I obviously can't speak for the general consensus, but around here it seems to sell rather well except for the places that insist on charging an extra dollar or two.

It's tasty but a price fail around here, it's usually $9 and sometimes $10 and it's not special enough for that price point.

It is not supposed to be sold past that date.

I doubt it is failing. It is most of the country's easiest to aquire, uber hoppy and aromatic IPA. The fact you never have to worry about freshness is nothing less than awesome. Can't wait for 6 packs of 4.20.15 and future releases! :grinning:

I think most of you are missing the point of the Enjoy By series, it was meant so you know you're buying a fresh IPA when you grab it just by reading the name of it, as well as the stores not supposed to be selling it past the date.

Yes, almost every IPA should be consumed fresh. But just because it is sitting on the shelf past date doesn't mean that Stone is failing or the concept is failing. The people working at the store may know nothing about craft beer and IPA's and just sell it cause they can advertise to the craft beer community with it. So they leave it on shelves cause they think it will attract the customers. Or they over stocked it ridiculously and have no other choice but to sell it because they will lose serious money if they have Stone buy back at cost and or exchange for a discounted price of a new batch. Things like that are out of Stone's control and that is the stores responsibility.

I love the concept and I think it is working brilliantly, I think it would work better with 4 or 6-packs for price point, but just cause it sits on shelves at a few places doesn't mean there is anything wrong with it.

A local BevMo has 12-26-14 sitting on the shelf and one of the sales people told me they aren't going to get any new releases until that one sells out.

It's a great beer, top-notch DIPA and for my money 22 ounces is a perfect serving size. I guess I'm not on the leading edge of IPA greatness, I still thing Hopslam is world-class (at least), but I pick up and Enjoy By every time I can and love it. Gorgeous appearance, outstanding nose, and most of all a great tasting, classic beer.

That's pretty much where they stand on it, it seems.

That seems a bit ridiculous... are they just going to convince some idiot that the date is ACTUALLY when it was brewed? Not its best by?

I second what others are saying about some places having 2 dates at one time.

That's about the stupidest thing I've heard from a store. If you care, let Stone know. If you don't, then don't. They are not supposed to sell by the enjoy by date.

I visited my favorite store in Kentucky when visiting my parents. I have came to know the manager quite well because I normally drop $$$ every month or so when I visit. I walked into his cooler and he had 8 enjoy by's that were 5 or 6 days past the enjoy by date. I asked how much my discount is for out of date beer? He said, "hold on." He walked up front grabbed a cart, filled it with the enjoy by, and pushed the cart up front. He said, "do you want them in a box?" I said what are you doing? He replied, "stores don't get credit on enjoy by if they go out of date and I don't want anyone reporting me to Stone that I was selling out of date enjoy by's. That is a huge no no and I don't want Stone to pull out of my store. Either you take them home free or I'm throwing them away. "

I always shake my head when people tell of their stores squeezing blood out of a turnip by pushing this beer past the date when there is respectable stores that do what they are supposed to.

My local bottle shop tells me the 3.14 is not going to make it on to the shelves for whatever reason, I don't even listen to them once they say they aren't going to stock the beer.

Sorry but a bottle shop's problem is not my problem and I have a difficult time sympathizing with them, especially when they want to beat me for $13.99 for a single KBS.

12-26 all over stores around here. They might as well start selling them for $1.00.

The chances of any store anywhere near me doing this is zero.

Congratulations to you, awesome thing there.
